The Sacre Brew Manifesto

Sacre Brew is an extension of the head brewer, Gwen Sanchirico. As this business grows, it is important to adhere to one’s principles. This Manifesto summarizes them.

  • Produce fine, distinctive beers that not only express tradition but push the boundaries of what beer is perceived to be.
  • Treat the business as an extension of myself, my values, and my principles.
  • Be creative and experimental.
  • Use the highest quality ingredients possible.
  • Never use artificial ingredients or GMOs.
  • Use organic ingredients as much as possible.
  • Use locally sourced goods and services of quality as much as possible.
  • Make the brews vegan (no animal products).
  • Purchase fair trade products whenever available.
  • Engage customers, employees, and partners.
  • Empower and educate customers by enabling them to be part of the brewing process.
  • Never pasteurize the beer.
  • Practice waste reduction and recycling, and promote environmental stewardship however possible.
  • Educate people about the science of fermentation and the cultures of beer.
  • Support the community that supports the brewery; always give back.
  • Collaborate with other microbreweries, local businesses, and organizations to create works greater than the sum of their parts.
  • Run a prosperous business wisely and ethically.
  • Promote responsible and enlightened alcohol consumption.
  • Add art and history, and foster a sense of place.
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment, living wage, and profit-sharing program for all workers.
